She released his hand and grinned widely, "So, if you complete this training, which regiment do you want to be in?"

" Survey Corp. Definitely. Im tired of living in these walls. I want to see whats truly out there. " He said smiling.

Why am I so open today? Im never like this. Whats gotten into me? He thought.

Her smile grew as he said this, "Me too... I mean, I've never seen the outside, it's just so intriguing. You know? What is really out there? I'm kind of expecting some crazy plot twist." She laughed to herself. Then her happy attitude dropped slightly, "Besides... People seem to be dying even inside the walls, so what's the point of staying in them?"

His smile grew. But lessened at the last part.

" Its true. Thats why I want to make a difference. " He said as his smile returned.

She smiled sadly, "But the question is, does anything we do make even the smallest difference?"

" It will soon. Im sick of seeing wasted lives and people dying for nothing. I will find a way for humanity to thrive again. I know it. " He said with a seemingly bursting amount of confidence.

Her smile returned, "Yeah... Maybe you're right, I've always dreamed of helping to stop the titans... My mum was so mad when I first told her..." She laughed quietly, "You should have seen her face."

" Heh. Seems like a popular reaction, I almost got thrown out of the house for even suggesting it. " He smiled.

She laughed, "My mum didn't do that, she just locked me in my room for a few hours, to 'think about it'. I did think about it... But in the wrong way."
