I sit in the nook of Shurikan's huge neck, carelessly gazing off into space. Nothing matters anymore, all I have is myself and Shurikan. Everything else was burned. Burned down. Everyone...
Calm yourself, little one. I hear Shurikan's voice in my head, and I calm down. He is the only thing that has driven me to live, and not kill myself. He is so huge, I can just live on him, and he is content. He doesn't need food, he just saps the energy from the surrounding life. We land in a clearing, and I see a few other people. I slide down Shurikan's neck, not wanting to scare anyone and get Shurikan hurt again. He's all I have left...

Sterling walked toward the other riders. She spotted one with dark hair and blue eyes and approached him first. "You're another rider, right?"

"Yes." I say, startled that she isn't afraid of my giant dragon. His front shoulders are as wide as two carriages, and he is as long as seven or eight, and as tall as three. His black scales have a deep purple hue, a telltale sign of his purple venom. I see a dribble down his chin, and quickly tell him,
Astra erni everdos." They are friends, not enemies.

She eyed the dragon as he spoke to it, Winter coming up beside her. He looked like a snake, almost blending into the snow that coated the ground. He curled his tail up beside her and his head reared up. "Nice dragon. What's your name?" she asked the giant creature.

*Asher*

"He doesn't talk." I say, a touch embarrassed. I hide it well though.
"His name is Shurikan." Shurikan bows his giant head down, and touches it gently to the human's head, being sure not to get his venom anywhere near her. With a head the size of a horse, he can easily avoid an accident.

"He can't? Well, some dragons have strengths in things like that while others are better at other things." She smiled stroking the dragon's head, and nodded at Winter. The white and blue furred dragon stepped to the boy and said: I am Winter.

Sterling pulled her head away and smiled at the boy. "Sterling Hall- nice to meet you and Shurikan."

"Asher Nightshade. Well met, Sterling and Winter."
I say, happy to have finally found someone who accepts me.

They both bowed at once, Sterling rising up with a smile. "Well, I hope our journey together is a peaceful one."

We both bow simultaneously. This is the first person I have interacted with in months, so I guess I am being more friendly than usual. Shurikan's lectures on being social beat me into shape too I guess.
