The snapping of bracken can be heard long before a looming shadow of something enormous rises up out of the gloom.
"Hello...hello...hi," comes a low, slow voice, as a moose peers between two saplings standing about even with his heavyset shoulders. "Is this the Herd of Ghosts? No...I am sorry...it is the Herd-That-Seeks the Herd of Ghosts. Ella is always telling me I am losing my head, and, well--" He tries pushing his head through the two saplings, ending up only getting his antlers stuck in them. He stares around mournfully at the others. "I am afraid she is right."

The moose gives a shake of his head as his antlers come free. "Oh, thank you. These little dudes are so tiny, but I suppose they are just the right size for you small ones." He takes another step forward, peering down at Jasper. "I don't eat people, I promise. What is your name, little dude?"
