Augustine looked up, noticing the newcomers.
"Professor Juniper, is over there!" he said pointing to a tall, young woman with hair that somewhat resembled a swirl of chocolate custard. "My name is Augustine Juniper, by the way. And this is my stupid older sister, Lila Juniper."
"I'm not stupid!" Lila said angrily.
Augustine stuck out his tongue.

"Don't need it!" Ashley said cheerfully.

"Wave use Razor Shell!" Ashley said. Wave obeyed, Slashing out at the wild Patrat. "That's the Way! Now water gun!"

Augustine and Lila bickered all the way to route one, and Augustine was immediately challenged by a wild Purrloin.
"Okay Tepi, use Ember!" Augustine commanded.
Lila snorted. "Tepi, you nicknamed it Tepi? Sounds like TP, as in toilet paper!" she scoffed.
"Will you hold on for a second?" Augustine asked the Purrloin.
"Purr, Purrloin!" it said, nodding.
"Thanks. Tepi, use Ember on Lila!" he cried.
"Teeeeeepiiiiiig!" Tepi screamed, shooting a burst of fire from its nose.
Lila fell over, soot covering her all over.
After he was sure she was down for the count, he resumed his battle. "Okay! Use Ember! Go Pokeball!"
The ball shook for a moment, before signalling that Purrloin was caught.

Several battles later, Ashley managed to catch a Lilipup, whom she named Rufus.

Lila trailed ash-covered behind Augustine, who held Tepi and Purpur in his arms.
"This is so stupid!" Lila said angrily.
"Snivy." Snivy agreed.
"You're just jealous because I caught my second pokemon before you did." Augustine said.
"No I'm not!"
"Yes. You. Are."
