He doesn't know the code. Good. Mio thought. This will give me an advantage.
"Luca, utilisez Flamethrower! Ensuite, utilisez Double Kick encore et encore jusqu' ce que Leaflette s'vanouisse!" Mio commanded.
Luca sent a blaze of fiery fury at the Grass-type, then used Double Kick over and over, it's legs a blur of colour.

Gradient smirked again. This Riolu must be powerful; After all, wasn't Flamethrower a Level 30 something move? Yeah, it was. Hm... This might be a challenge after all. "Sand Attack twice!" Gradient commanded, as his Leaflette followed. It was hanging on 1 Health; Leaflette had dodged most of the Flamethrower, however, the extremely over-powered move still grazed him. Leaflette kicked up the sand into the Riolu's eyes, lowering its accuracy stat twice.

Gradient silently recalled his Pokemon, sending Eevee out. With those two Sand Attacks and the move Gradient was going to make Eevee use, not a lot of Riolu's attacks were going to hit. But chance was a dangerous game. "AY!" Gradient called out. Agility. "WuH!" Wish. "SiH!" Slash.

"Oh and Gradient," Mio said, reading the boy's mind, "I taught Luca Flamethrower with a TM.
Luca, utilisez le lance-flammes pour transformer le sable en verre, puis utilisez Double Kick jusqu' ce que Eevee s'vanouisse!" Mio commanded.
Riolu nodded and used Flamethrower to melt the sand into glass, then leaped into the air and attacked Eevee like it did with Leaflette, its legs a blur of slate-grey. Mio had done special speed training with Luca, making it extremely fast.

Gradient grinned wide. Oh, this was going to be fun all right. The Wish took place again, replenishing Eevee's health to half capacity. "Oh? Okay then. Eevee, PoH!" Gradient instructed. Play Rough, a Fairy Type move that would be super effective. "PoH, WeH!" He commanded. Play Rough, Wish. Gradient could play the TM game, too.

"Alright then! Luca! Utilisez Brick Break puis Drain Punch!" Mio said, giving orders in Kalosian.
Luca punched Eevee with force that could break a brick wall, then drained Eevee's health with Drain Punch.

"PeH, WiH!" Gradient cried out. Play Rough hit, and the Wish took place quicker than usual. Gradient sent out Leaflette, who was dangling on 1 HP. "Leaflette, Leaf Tornado around yourself, then move around! If you can, Vine Whip Riolu." Gradinet commanded. Leaflette delicately brought out a protective shield of leaves around itself, protecting itself from whatever move Riolu would use next. Gradient gave a restoring berry to Eevee in the mean time, restoring it back to full health.

(Who's gonna win? Or is it just gonna be a tie?)

(I'll lose.)
"Luca! Dodge it!" Mio cried, but it was too late. Leaflette's Vine Whip managed to strike a critical hit, striking down Luca.
"Go Kindelet!" Mio cried, sending out the little Fire-type.

(Cool, got it.)
Gradient showed no emotion as Leaflette was sent up to Level 6, only to fall to the ground in defeat after. Flamethrower had burned him earlier; A crucial detail Gradient had missed. Smiling slightly, he sent out Eevee. "Eevee, SeH, SeH." Gradient said. He was too lazy to bother smart, well-calculated attacks at this point. Eevee was at an advantage here, after all.

Kindelet received a walloping and fell to the ground defeated.
"Kindelet return." Mio said. "You're a formidable trainer." she said, nodding to Gradient.
"A splendid battle indeed!" Blackthorn said clapping her hands. "You two show great prowess as trainers."

Gradient bowed to both Mio and the Professor, smiling slightly. The bow was a traditional greeting/thanks in his family, passed down for generations. "Thank you, Professor, Mio. Mio, your Riolu was quite powerful. You must have trained it well." He praised, his eyes far away and distantly clouded.
