Well I was thinking diamonds, then I thought of stars, which are kinda like sometimes portrayed as diamond shaped? Soo, then I went with a Ryori because it's a very ghostly/ethereal creature and designed it to look like the night sky ^^

Edit: OK, so the only species that can actually brandish a club is the Draeyl. I gave the design four Visible traits--the club and three Genes that produce rounded spots on the pet, rounded like the symbol of the Clubs suite.
Now, every playing card in the modern deck has a Tarot card equivalent. For the Four of Clubs, it's the Four of Wands, obviously. The most famous Tarot deck is probably the Rider-Waite. Here's the Rider-Waite Four of Wands--
This card gave me my color palette. The result is, I think, subtle yet satisfying, just like the usual interpretation of the Four of Wands card--
Contentment; a peaceful, happy, safe home; successful completion of a project or task; etc.
Of course, I have to include both male and female versions, since the Four of Wands depicts a wedding!
And now my task is successfully completed.

My card was the 10 of Hearts
When I saw the Rose Tail mutation, I knew I had to use it <3 I used the feathered wings because they reminded me of those kind of wings you always see on images/representations of Cupid. The tips of the wings and the head/neck (it's not as visible on the female) are black, because I wanted something to represent the darker/hidden sides of love as well. ^0^ This pet uses 10 trait points C:

10 of Spade Ryori
Well I choose the colors based on a real card. I thought that the leaves looked like spades and petal markings were pretty close. The base was white so it looked like a card. The ethereal armor looked like a card on it's back.
I was looking at this card while doing it
