Steve nods. "I could use a cold drink." He mumbles past his swollen tongue.

Greg laughs a bit. "You bet! I'm starved!"

Jackson rolls his eyes at the new recruits. They were pathetic with their I'm going to the Survey Cors and kill any Titans that crossed my path! If only they knew what it was like to fight the savage beasts.

Caelan laughs as well. She points dramatically towards the barracks again. "Then let us make haste!" she yelled, drawing the attention of a few of the cadets around them. She just ignores them, and begins to walk in the direction, turning to look back at the two boys.

Alex turns towards the barracks. "C'mon, let's go eat," he says in a bored tone. Max nods, and hurries to catch up with his brother.

Salem sighs, wishing she had something to do. She didn't feel like eating, so she begins to wander around among the other cadets, looking for any familiar faces. She hadn't really made any friends, but she hopes to see someone in the same barrack as her.

Steve follows her, his head down as blood again drips from his mouth. "Do you have another napkin?"

Greg wraps an arm around the boys neck. "I can wait to see a real Titan! To fight one!"

Caelan falls into step on Greg's other side. She throws an arm around his neck too. "Me neither!" She frowns for a second, rummaging around in her pocket. She finds a hankerchief that she had used to tie back her hair when it was a bit longer. "Here ya go," she says, handing it to Steve. "But I think the real reason I want to join the corps is because if I do die, I want to go down fighting," she says, her eyes steeled in determination. Then she grins again, rubbing the back of her neck with her free hand. "Sorry, didn't mean to get all deep there!" she says, turning to grin at the two.

Greg laughs. "It's alright we all have our moments." He smiles. "So Steve have you ever seen a Titan? I know I would love to see one for myself!"

Steve takes the napkin. "I have...and I never want too again unless I have too.." His eyes were sad, his mind distant

"Excuse me for asking but, if you don't want to see another titan, why join the survey corps, or even the military?" Caelan asks, tightening her arm around his shoulders in what she hopes is a comforting way.

Salem sees a boy she sorta recognized from the first days in the military, and she had seen him around a bit. She walks up to him, wanting to have a conversation with someone. "You're Jackson, right?" she asks him.

"Because I want to kill them for what they did to me. I want to kill all of them." Steve says looking down.

Jackson look at the girl having seen her around but never talked to her. "Yes I am, who wants to know?"

"Be careful with revenge. It is often an endless loop my friend," Caelan says, not smiling anymore. "But if you wish for revenge, I will help you," She adds, giving him a smile.

"I am Salem," she says, wondering if the boy would answer her question even if it was totally out of the blue. "If you wouldn't mind telling me, what corps are you going into?" she asks.

Steve looks up. "If you saw what i did then revenge would not seem so bad." The boy again looks away, no longer cheerful.

Greg could see this. "Well enough of that! Who wants to share this slab of meat with me?" He asks pulling out the slab of cured beef with a cheerful smile

Jackson looks at her a bit confused. "Survey why do you ask?"

"Where the heck did you get that!?" Caelan yells, staring at the meat in surprise. "You can't just pull meat out of thin air!" She hoped Greg's attempt to cheer Steve up would work.

"I just find it strange. Most people scorn the survey corps, and yet a lot of people I've talked to want to join it," Salem says, trying to remember what the people behind Wall Cena had said about the survey. "Not that I scorn it. I myself want to join the survey as well," she adds when she realizes it her earlier comment could have been seen as offensive.
