Knuckles climbed back out, unflinching. This was the sort of thing he lived for. Sonic zipped after him. "C'mon Pearl! If he get's knocked out, we'll have to be ready to take over!" he said with a sense of urgency.

Sonic just stood and watched. He knew better then to interfer when Knuckles was involved in a fight like this.
Knuckles growled and sprang into action, motion fliud and effortless and fists brandished. He rushed towards the opponent, all possible methods of attack flashed through his mind. It certianly had the size advantage, as well at the purple sapphire or whatever.... He smirked. Large meant openings, power source meant weak spot.

Knuckles let out a sharp yelp. The blow knocked the wind out of him, and he remained still, stooped down on one knee and one hand. The other hand was clutched to his stomach as he gasped for breath.
