As they continue, the walls go from white to black, confirming that this is not just a den. While it might seem like a minor detail, the color black is extremely sacred to kitsunes, and having black walls is banned for all of them.. Except nine-tails.

Puck wonders why the walls go black, but he just shrugs it off

It seems to be hematite, which is quite pretty to look at (hematite is a tiny bit iridescent). There's a smell getting increasingly strong, as well- it smells sort of like cinnamon, but sweeter.
