Longfur said, "Correct."
Then he becomes somber as he says, "And what are deathberries used for?"

"They aren't used for good." Featherpaw replied. "If a cat eats them they die."

He nods again and meows, "The only time they are useful is when a cat will die either way, and it will be more painful than the poison of the berries."

"Oh." Featherpaw mewed. "Am I ready?"

He said, "More than ready. We need to talk to my father about this."

"Ok!" Featherpaw said happily.
"What are you so happy about?" Swiftpaw, Featherpaw's brother asked.
"I'm going to become a Medicine Cat!" Featherpaw mewed.
"Really?" Sparrowpaw, Featherpaw's other brother growled.
"Isn't it exciting?" Featherpaw asked.
"No." Swiftpaw hissed. "Featherpaw, you were always different. Why a Medicine Cat? You can't fight."
"I don't want to fight anymore." Featherpaw mewed.
"Because your scared." Sparrowpaw sneered. "Your too little."
"Stop." Featherpaw hissed. "I can help my Clan in other ways."
"Really?" Sparrowpaw growled, unsheathing his claws.
"Sparrowpaw-" Swiftpaw mewed. "We don't have to go that far."
"Be quiet, Swiftpaw." Sparrowpaw growled, leaping and swiping his unsheathed claws.

Longfur looked over and meowed, "I think you're jealous of your sister, Sparrowpaw. After all, she'll have a closer relationship with StarClan than you."
He looked somber as he gazed on the apprentice, as if StarClan had told him something...but what?"

Sparrowpaw swiped his brown paw at Featherpaw's face. Featherpaw was surprised, and yowled in pain.
"Stop it, Sparrowpaw!" Swiftpaw desperately mewed.

She nodded. "Okay," she responded.

Longfur pounced on Sparrowpaw, his claws digging into the younger cat's chest and belly and his teeth in the apprentice's throat, though not breaking skin. Yet.
