Alastor start to wrap Thema's wound and makes it tight enough so it won't fall off. After a bit he was done and said "There you go Thema,"

She thanked him before getting up weakly and leaning against the tree "t-those things c-can hi-hit hard" she joked a little

"those things are weird" i say, staring over at the deer "oh well, it's dead now, anyone want to help me carve it up and cook it?" i ask, grinning "i'll let you have the best parts when we find out what they are" i add, whispering to thema. it's the least i could do as an apology for letting her get hurt.

Malis said, "I can help carve it," Alastor shakes his head. "I will keep watch while you carve the 'deer' so predators won't come by the smell," Alastor said.

She shrugged "i-its okay" she insisted looking at it

"if you insist" i shrug. it's not my place to force people to do things, plus i have no idea how her culture treats getting wounded, it could be incredibly rude for me to have offered to help. then again, she didn't seem insulted...


"thanks for the help" i say to malis and alastor as i crouch beside the carcass, rummaging around in my pack before finding a small carving knife at the very bottom. it wouldn't have been very useful in taking hte deer down, but it will certainly be useful in carving the meat into something manageable.

"Your welcome," Malis and Alastor said. Malis helps Amaria find a carving knife. Alastor kept watch.

we fall into a comfortable silence as i begin carving the deer, being careful not to damage the hide or drop the meat in the dirt. i place the meat on a large leaf that looks clean enough. i hope it's clean enough. it'll be fine all the bacteria will die when we cook it.

"will someone help me set up a place to smoke the meat so it wont go bad?" i ask as i carve the last slice off, leaving only the bones and inedible pieces. i set the knife aside, carefully sliding my hand under the leaves and picking it up without dropping any food.

"Here, let me help with that." By that point the basses for the shletler were preaty mutch done anyway so taking care of preserving the food was higher on his priority. He was generaly on the quieter side so normaly he would have left it to someone more talkative so that Amaria would not have to work in an ackward silence but the decided to give it a go this time around.
