It fell over from the deep wound. Connie was studying it the largest cricket. She was posed to jump around or on it to dodge it's attacks. it swiped at her with surprising speed, catching the Spirit off guard. Connie jumped up and landed on it's back, balancing a little awkwardly as she looked back. She top of the tree had been thrown off and crushed some crickets.
'That must be it!' She looked up at Connie and the giant cricket. "Connie, are you okay?!" she called out to her spirit.
At the same time, she noticed the tree's fall wiped out a few crickets. She took advantage of the situation and went to strike some more, now aiming for their flanks to cut off their limbs.

it only worked on smaller crickets. When you brought your sword along the flank of a bigger one, it did no damage. It just stared at you with it's milky-grey eyes and swiped, leaving a deep wound on your arm.

"Argh!" Iist hissed and backed away from the larger cricket, clutching the gash on her arm. "Grr...how can I fight them?" She backed away slowly (still in Connie's range), staring them down with her sword guarding her incase they swiped at her again. She tried to look for another weak spot to strike.
