I climb high into a tree away from them all and silently watch them, trying to ignore the ache in my heart.

Jackson held his hand out. "Spirit, that's what he wants."

''To be tackled? Tha's weird."

I secretly feel a little bit bad for the wolf guy, but he had it coming. He can't just be rude all the time and expect everyone to be nice.

"No goofball, he wants attention." He looked down at the small dog, laughing.

My tail and ears have reappeared as I slowly creep back towards them. I sit a bit away on a tree branch, watching silently and somewhere deep inside, wishing I belonged somewhere.
