Keezheekoni grunted lightly as she helped him into Borak's saddle instead. He couldn't ride by himself. "Pepper we need to go now." she said quickly. She pulled herself up behind him. Clicking her tongue for Borak to go, giving a bit of harder kick. She held on tight as Borak took off towards the next town. She may not like palefaces, but she wasn't going to let someone die for no reason.

Maggie struggled a bit. "I'm trying to help him! He's going to die if he doesn't get that arm off!" She screamed swinging the knife around.

July nearly fell from the horse. "I've never been this cold before..." He said weakly shivering some. "When did it get cold?"

Keezheekoni tensed. She held him on tightly. "Shhh...your going to be okay." she whispered to him. She pressed against him more, trying to keep him warm. "Borak, show me what you got." she said quickly. She held tight as he sped up as fast as he could go. "You need to stay awake. Fight." she whispered. She quickly tied a piece of string around his arm tight to stop it from spreading through blood flow. She smiled a little when she saw the town up ahead in the distance. Her hand reached back and gave Borak a slap on the rear to get him going, her arm went back around him tight so he didn't fall off.

"If you cut his arm off he could still die from blood loss or the poison that's still in his veins." She said dodging the knife and getting off her. She whistled and Alaska came trotting over. Pepper grabbed the side of the saddle and jumped, swinging her legs over and landing in the saddle first time that ever worked she thought smiling a little before looking at the girl again "if you're coming get on, you're not gonna have a chance with Camel, if you're gonna try and stab me though, you'll wish you were never born." She said narrowing her eyes and putting her hand on the hilt of her whip (is that what you call it?)

July found it hard to keep his eyes opened. He closed them after awhile, having no energy to stay awake anymore.

Maggie glared at the girl. "At least he wouldn't be dying of the worm poison!" She yelled before putting her knife away and hopping in Camel's back. Camel reared up and bolted trying to get her off. "You'll see that the doctor will do just the same for him!"

Wind found her way up along side Borak. "What's wrong? Why are we headed for the next town?" Ratonhnhake:ton asked.

Pepper clicked her heels into Alaska's side and started running after the others no July won't die... He can't leave me yet. she thought as she willed Alaska to go even faster.

Another slow day, but in a town where there was nothing it would be slow for business. The doctor sighed as he leaned back in his chair attempting to take a nap. That's when he heard it. He looked up slowly to find a horse and rider galloping towards them. She stopped infront of his shop. There was no need for words, one could clearly tell that the man she carried was in grave danger. The doctor took July from the horse and carried him inside where he began to work. "Just keep everyone out of here, I don't need to destractions."

Maggie jumped off Camel as they reached town, allowing the crazy horse to be free. "Don't worry, he knows what he is doing. I saw him once save a man's life after he had been dead for an hour."

Pepper got off Alaska and just nodded. Her stomach had turned to lead. She turned and rested her face on Alaska's neck. She wrapped her fingers in Alaska's mane and began to breath heavily, on the verge of crying.

(I'm going to skip a bit ahead to progress the story!)

A few hours later, dusk is setting in. The doctor wipes his hands on his blood stained apron as he exits the building. "He's going to make a stable recovery, surprisingly." He said tiredly. "You can go see him now, be warned though that when he comes to he will be very...uneasy at the changes I had to make in order to save his life."

Maggie looked up from where she had been drawing in the sand. "Finally! Just what exactly did you have to do?"

"You can come in and see for yourself. I will have to say though that it's my best work by far. Now if you will excuse me I'm headed down to the saloon for a drink." The doctor said leaving. Maggie looked to Pepper.

"You want to see him first?" She asked.

His head was spinning, like that time he got trapped in the wirl pool. July raised his arm to but his hand on his head but found something off about it. Slowly he opened his eyes to find the his arm was no longer present but instead a shiny metal contraption took its place. It was an arm, there was no mistaking it but instead of flesh it was metal. He struggled to sit up but he was too weak. "Pepper!" He cried out hoping someone would come to explain.

Pepper walked in and slowly walked towards July. The first thing she notices was his new shiny metal arm "oh July I'm so sorry!" She said bursting into tears and hugging him "I tried to make them keep your arm." She said hugging him tighter.
