(I don't mind. It does help me to talk about it.
Humor is an amazing coping mechanism. Sometimes it's all a person has.
Guilting someone is generally not going to be effective in my experience so much as gently reminding people that hey, you're concerned because you've noticed they are failing to look after themselves. Sometimes it's as simple as getting caught up in work and sometimes it's more serious, but you can never go wrong, imo, as a friend by checking in on people)

(Yeah. I always try to listen to my friends' problems. They're some of the most important people in my life, if they need anything, I'll be there for them.)

(Keep doing that. Need more people like you in the world. Can't count how many people I've had in life (family included) who shoved me aside and started treating me badly when things started getting rough for me.
Don't mind me musing but, depression is a funny thing, it sneaks up on people but it's not really anything you can work yourself out without getting an understanding of how it affects you and what exactly is bringing it on (since there's many different types of it, mine's hormone-linked, for example) , but I've noticed a lot of people who don't suffer from it treat it as something that's a problem with your character personally and act as if you're just being lazy. It makes it difficult to speak honestly with people especially if you're now afraid of what scenarios your brain is coming up with.
I still don't think I could ever speak to my family honestly about what I deal with without them thinking I need to be in a straitjacket, so it's nice to have friends and a boyfriend with similar struggles I can lean on and often, relate to. It definitely helps keep me from feeling completely isolated again.)

(Yeah. I can understand trying to deal with it. I used to not sleep a lot either, and I was always so tired that I felt like I actually had it. Then I realized just how much more others who do have it were struggling and I know I don't have it. So I decided, I would try to help my friends and family who have depression. I have always been great at listening, and I think that's all people need sometimes. Someone to listen to their problems.)
