"Only 11? That's still a lot" Coastal remarked. "But still, I'm more special than both Sandwing or Seawing combined!" Coastal said, a hint of joking in her voice.

Ink shifted from foot to foot, not trusting the stanger even if Ibis knew her from some prophecy mumbo-jumbo.
"Like you'd know what a ShadeWing sounded like, you've been away from the kingdom for so long!" Whoops. A RainWing would not know that it was perfectly normal for some dragons to leave. And his tone might have been a bit hostile- if he angered this dragon he would basically sign his own death warrant. He sighed, giving up any pretenses. "It was an accident, please don't tell Ibis," he said quickly, even though Darkness would probably not care that he'd killed a dragon as she had just slaughtered the soldiers that she had been fighting. As far as he knew, no other ShadeWing had his moral dilemma. "And don't worry. I will sneak out every twenty one days or so, I'm not that careless."
Ibis tried not to care about how the others were talking about her. She failed. At least she had her brother, but at the moment even he abandoned her. For the first time since she had curled up in that tree after her parents died she felt truely alone.

Darkness tipped her head to the side. "Who would I tell? And besides, you're the one taking care of this. But you'll have to show her eventually."
Blizzard blinked. "Eleven questions is a lot. But okay. Um... The Flashing isn't too big of an issue, but it's still killed about fifty dragons in the last year. We don't have much of a prevention method, other than quarantine, but it doesn't work very well. So no, we don't know much. The cold I think was an animus thing, to ward off attackers. Um..." He closed his eyes and tried to remember if anything odd had happened. "Well, me and Glace, my mentor, have been sent out quite a bit more often. I like seals, and polar bears. Flowers? There is one species of flower, we don't really have a name for it, but it's really strong and purple. Yes, there were animus dragons, but there's a few now again, I think. IceWings do have a strong immune system, yes, but our medicine isn't all that great. And-" The IceWing blinked again. "Do you like reading? Is that why the library question?"

Ink gave a grimace. "I hope it never comes to that. I don't think I can ever stop now. It would hurt her too much."

"Would it? She seems very strong to me," Darkness observed. "If her family was murdered, as you say... wait. Were you one of the ones who went and killed them?"

"Well let's put it this way, I've been researching in all of the libraries in the Sand Kingdom for a long time, studying all of the scrolls there," she smiled and grinned as she said this.
"Now as for the dragons who got the Flashing, did anyone know what exactly they were doing before they had contracted the disease and precisely how they were being quarantined?
You also said something about a mentor, mentor of what? Are you an apprentice?"

Coastal awkwardly backed away from the conversation, diving under the water, trying to wipe her thoughts of her terribly sick mother away, she couldn't help but to wonder if she was alright or not. Coastal knew what her powers could do, she could heal her, she could heal everyone, but she knew if she tried doing something that big, the repercussions would be extraordinary, and possibly destroying her soul, no animus had attempted fixing the flashing before, so she had no idea what it could do to her.
Her mind wandered to her necklace, and the dragon who gave it to her, did he really care? Did he just think she was some sort of hybrid freak. She couldn't help but to feel a slight pang of... affection? For him? A prince? She could use her powers for that too, but what would that make her? A monster? a liar? Both? She just decided to go back to her policy: No powers. She also considered going home, though, her father was a Seawing, and judging by her animus powers, he was royalty, so was she closely related enough to become a queen? Probably not, but that wouldn't go well anyway, she just wanted to go home now.

"It was an accident," Ink repeated. "Her brother was about to kill mine, and I didn't even stop to think! All I did was lift him off my brother and suddenly he's dead!"

"Apprentice to the IceWing kingdom's only diplomat, yes!" Blizzard agreed. "That's the only reason I leave. And the dragons who caught the Flashing... no. There's some theories going around about certain types of prey, but otherwise, they have near nothing in common."
Darkness placed a wing over Ink-Monsoon, trying to comfort him. "I'm not going to blame you for protecting your brother. You're... Ink, right? The prince who gave the forms to his brother?"

"That's cool, so once this whole thing is over, you're going back to become a diplomat? That sounds cool, you seem to have your life planned out, I have... no clue what I'm going to do after this" Confessed Coastal. "Maybe I could become a merchant or maybe even a diplomat like you, but, I'm not a whole Sandwing, so I may not be able to do anything... I'm sure something can work out though... right" Coastal asked Blizzard anxiously.
