Mercury walked over to Rhythm, whacking her in the stomach with her hard tail. "Wake up" She said, before walking over to Coastal, who promptly blasted her with fire. Mercury sighed contently, looking at her scales, which reflected like liquid metal in the sunlight.

The snoring quieted, but Rhythm was still asleep. (Rhythm told Darkness a while back how to wake her up on the day they met Coastal.)

Coastal came over to get Mercury "She'll wake up eventually, don't worry" Coastal said, nudging her away, holding her head in one hand. "You okay?" Mercury asked. Coastal nodded, humming "Yeah, humming helps with my stress" Coastal told Mercury.

"Have you tried tickling?" Ink asked. "It always worked on me when I was little."
"When was that?" Ibis asked, giving him a look. "I don't remember that."
"You never tried tickling me," Ink replied. "But other people did." This was not a lie, only a half-truth. Ink had always been tickled awake as a dragonet, but Monsoon had not. In fact, Monsoon had been a very early riser.

"I'm sure she'll wake up on her own" Mercury reassured them. Coastal continued pacing around, humming to herself.

Darkness sighed and reared up on her hind legs. She took a deep breath and roared into Rhythm's face.
"Darkness! What are you doing?!" Blizzard cried, attempting to pull her back down.
"Waking her up," she replied, flicking her tail at Rhythm.

Coastal jumped about a foot in the air, but settled back down quickly, yawning again.

This actually worked.
"Who, what?! Oh hi Darkness, how long was I asleep? I hope that I didn't disturb anyone," Rhythm said.

"No, it's all okay" Coastal said, humming slightly louder after yawning loudly. "Coastal, did you sleep at all last night?" Mercury asked. "Who took the night shift after you?" Mercury asked the large hybrid. Coastal shook her head "No" She told her. Mercury just looked at her confused "Coastal, what does 'no' mean in this situation, Mercury asked. "I slept for maybe an hour, no one took the shift after me, I've been up all night" Coastal told her. "Wait seriously? All night?" Mercury asked, surprised. Coastal nodded in response, continuing her humming.

This really concerned Rhythm.
"Coastal, not getting any sleep is not healthy. There have been previously documented cases that when a dragon has received little to no sleep for several days, it drives them as insane as an animus dragon who has lost their soul," she warned the hybrid.
