Knuckles eventually regained some consciousness, opened his eyes a little. His first thought was who was carrying him, and his second thought was whether this was just Infinite messing with his head, and his third thought was where the creep was now. He closed his eyes again, too exhausted to protest, and slipped back into unconsciousness.

"Gotchya," Sonic said with a nod. "Here. Lemme take 'im from the rest of the way," the blue hedgehog slipped an arm around the echidna and casually pulled him onto his shoulder. Knuckles moaned. "Waking up a bit, huh?" Sonic asked, not expecting a response. He looked at Shadow. "Let's go," He said, dashing down the street, just fast enough for Shadow to keep up.

When they arrived, Sonic laid the echidna on the couch and ruffled his head fur.
