Occara

Description
Occara are dragon-like creatures that come out at sunset and sunrise. They live in beach caves and are rarely seen, due to their unique ability to camouflage themselves into their environment and the small tunnels they create in the caves. Females are usually 5m (16.4ft) tall and 10m (32.8ft) long. Males are slightly smaller, the average male is 4.5m (14.7ft) long and 7m (22.9ft) tall. Their unique colouring blends their body into the pink, purple and orange sunsets and sunrises.

Appearance
Occara have pinky-orangey skin that helps them blend into the sunsets and sunrises on the beaches they live on. Their wings are usually torn because when they exit the cocoon when becoming an adolescent, the ends of their wings usually still have fragments that connect them to the cocoon. Sometimes the fragments come off, but sometimes they need to be torn off, sometimes resulting in torn wings. They have 4 long canine teeth that are filled with venom. The top teeth stick out of their mouth when their jaw is shut. They have feathered tails and crests which are believed to help with flight and warding off predators, as they can fan the feathers out like a cockatoo's crest. Some Occcara have arms, however this is a very rare genetic mutation that can lead to illnesses. Occara have one long talon on each foot that is used for stabbing prey and easy transport. Their scales are tougher than diamonds, however chili sauce can essentially fizzle away the scales. Adults have a single claw on the topmost joint of their wing. This is primarily used for climbing but is also known to be used in combat. Occara have very interesting noses. They are scaly, but the scaled create almost a sort of funnel into the nose. It is believed that the scaled also help smells 'bounce' into their noses. Occara's tongues can get up to 45cm (17.7 inches) long. Their tongues are used for grasping leaves and twigs to insert into their mouths, much like an elephant's trunk.

Diet
Occara are omnivores, they eat both meat and plants. They primarily eat shrubs and fish, although they will not hesitate to eat any small Sylesti that wander into their territory. Sylvorpa, Lupora and Zolnixi seem to be their favourite. Baby Occara drink milk from their mothers, but when they become older (still before the adolescent stage), their mothers digest plants and meat for them and spit it out to feed to the hatchlings. This is a feature seen in many animals and is called regurgitation. Adolescent and Adult Occara will eat smaller foods such as shrimp, krill and algae, however it is harder for them to get energy from small foods as it takes quite a bit of energy to digest these foods.

Habitat
As stated before, Occara live in beachfront caves. Inside the caves, however, they usually dig a tiny tunnel that they can just fit through in order to get to a hollowed-out cave. This provides much more protection and this means they can hide easily. Inside their cave they usually have multiple rooms. One room is the bedroom. This room usually consists of one bed for the parents and one bed per 2 children. The beds are made of leaves, feathers and twigs. There are usually toys in the bedroom, too, as Occara need lots of mental stimulation. The next room is the kitchen room. This usually has an assigned place to sit and a small area for food preparation. The next room is the spare room. This room is usually used for training, playing or fighting, but some Occara use it for other purposes such as painting, sleeping or exercising.

Abilities
Camouflage - The ability to change the colour of their scales to blend into their environment.
Venom - Occara have 4 long canine teeth that are full of venom. One drop can kill a human immediately.
Poison Blood - Occara should never be eaten as their blood is highly toxic.
Collapsible Skeleton - Occara can collapse their skeletal structure in order to fit into tiny places.

Backstory/Legend
The Occara were said to have come when the gods needed a creature to look after the lands around them. They enlisted a team of dragons to patrol the beaches, ensuring no trespassers come about the islands. These dragons eventually became known as Occara.

Personality
Female and male Occara have very different personalities. The females usually are fiercer, and leave the raising of the children to the males. Females are bigger than males. When fought, no matter how tough the enemy, Occara will never surrender. This is also a cause of the torn wings. Occara are extremely resilient and can adapt very quickly to their environment. They are extremely territorial and will kill and most likely eat any trespassers. Female Occara are typically more rough than males - they do the hunting, they have intense training and they usually learn faster.

Training
The Training of the baby Occara impacts it's life greatly. Some Occara are speed trained, some are strength trained, so on so forth. However, it's flying that sets aside Occara from other species capable of flight. The mothers will grab their children when they are not looking and fly them into the sky, sometimes thousands of feet high. Then they simply drop the hatchling. This is where 82% of the Occara hatchling deaths come from. Only 1 in 3 Occara survive this fall, the others come crashing to the ground - sometimes, if they're lucky, landing in the water. However, usually they are not so lucky and come crashing into sand (which from this fast feels like concrete), sharp rocks or grass. The shocking part is that the adults don't even try to save the babies - to their knowledge, if the baby can't fly when it's supposed to, it is worthless and will be a waste of time to feed it and care for it when the adults could be having a faster, stronger, more successful baby.

- Occara have a deep bond with the elements, and some more powerful forms of Occara can manipulate the elements
- Occara babies have different gene patterns than adults
- Occara only sleep once every few years, lots of their energy comes from the sun and the moon
- Occara hatchlings create a cocoon for themselves to turn into adolescents, and create another when going from the adolescent stage to the adult stage, however this cocoon simply keeps them in a fixed position while they grow
- Occara have extremely hard bones despite the fact that they are hollow
- The lighter patches on the hatchlings are actually patches of translucent skin. Their skin becomes harder than diamonds when they become an adolescent
- Occara have the toughest scales known to man, however there is a way to penetrate it - with chili sauce
- Occara can fly for up to 5 years at a time without rest due to their little weight and large wingspan
- Occara eggs can be spotted, striped, plaid, shiny or plain. Some even have certain protection on it, such as spikes or bumps - however, this can make it difficult for the adults to help nurse the eggs

Description Of Fantasy Creature: This wolf resembles a hybrid cross between an ice dragon and that of a wolf/Lupora. It lives in a cave with its pack and doesn't come out until night. They are similar to wolves in appearance and similar to dragons in nature and personality. They defend the goddess Artemis.

Their Special Abilities:

1) When backed into a corner, they can turn into wisps of light and float away, then turn back into themselves in a safer place.

2) When all is desperate and/or they are losing a war, they can sacrifice themselves, turning themselves into obsidian shards and turning everything else within a mile-long range into shards of any type of gemstone.

The Meridgaia

Origin: Mystica, lived there since 2400 BC

Meridgaean Appearances

The Meridgaia are wolves with sprite and spirit traits. They're usually shades of green, blue, cyan, and teal. Purple is a common accent color, and their fur is either near-black or very dark blue.

They have a symbiotic relationship with the earth. Mystica provides the Meridgaia with food, water, and shelter. In return, the Meridgaia provides Mystica with fertility and life. Some Meridgaeans channel this bond in auras or wings, while others are literally bursting with it.

Meridgaean Personalities


Meridgaeans are usually quite calm and kind. They love to nap in cool water and run in the woods. This is even more evident due to their connection with the earth.

They can also be shy; as the Infindae hunted them for their pelt and magic. The males will fight, and won't stop even when it's too dangerous. Seriously, don't harm nature!

Meridgaean Powers

Spectral Blood: Never eat the meat or drink the blood of a Meridgaean. It gives a person a horrible disease that kills them instantly.

Nature Manipluation: All Meridgaeans can control nature. They try not to hurt it.

Telepathy: They can hear the voices of other organisms, and can adjust the volume.

Gaea's Blessing: This can only be used once every two days. It heavily increases a Meridgaean's agility and strength, and enables levitaton.

Shiniji's Sacrifice: A Meridgaean Tale

Once there was a Meridgaean named Shiniji. They were stuck in the middle of the Infinitas War, between the Meridgaeans and the Infindae. Shiniji wanted the war to end due to the suffering and death.

One day, the Battle of Catalyst was raging. Bodies were strewn across the battlefield as two sides clashed. Shiniji prayed to Gaea as he ran up. The Infindae launched a large bomb, and Shiniji jumped onto it. He steered it toward the Infindae, making the Meridgaeans win.

Meridgaean Relationships

Infindae: The Meridgaeans despise the Infindae. The latter poached the former for their essence and fur. This broke into the Infinitas War, and they still don't get along.

Chimeardian: The two species are allies. The Chimeardians helped the Meridgaeans during their tough times, and the latter repayed the favor. The Meridgaean princess may or may not have a crush on the Chimeardian prince..

Other: Completely neutral.
