She blinked, her lips twitching into a smile. "I've never heard someone gloat about themselves so much. I would help you with the hair but you don't seem to like being touched."

I twitch my wings nervously, a silent war waging between my conscious and my lonesome self. Eventually, my loneliness wins. "Just this once," I say, holding still so that Tempest can get to my hair.

"Oh?" She asked. "Really?" Tempest stood slowly walking to his side and then sitting beside him. She gently helped to untangle to sticks from his hair.

I sit completely still while Tempest combs my hair, occasionally fluttering my wings when she pulls a touch too hard. "Thank you," I say when she finishes.

"It's alright. Wouldn't want hair filled with sticks." She flashed a small smile, then joked- "It's nice to have someone stay with me, Thrush, but you don't have to."

"I have literally known you for a couple hours. That's a bit hasty, asking me to move in with you, don't you think?" I ask, crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow.

She choked on air. "Wha-? That's not what I meant! Seriously. You live underground and I can't stay away from water, so I doubt that's even a possibility."

"That's what I thought." I say, smirking at how easily flustered Tempest is. ''I should go.''

"What are you smirking at?" She questioned, standing and frowning. Her face colored. Don't ramble. "Yeah... you should leave, I wouldn't want to keep you from ruling 'your' forest."
