Greetings, dear shop owner!
Oh, I can't tell you how blessed I feel to have found you! I saw on a sign at your shop entrance the name "Aku" ... why, that must be you! Allow me to introduce myself to you it is only proper. Dont worry, I never say one word more than I need, and I am always very, very brief.
For time untold now I have traveled Sylestia --down the roads and the trails and the ... well, the rivers a time or two when I stepped carelessly. I'm a bard by trade, you see -- well, a scribe and a poet, more like -- but those jobs are very scarce these days what with people no longer reading as they should (no culture anymore), and when at last someone would pay me for my work Id find that they paid poorly indeed. It is for this that had to resort to being an adventurer ... which gets even less respect and pays more poorly still.
I saw many things throughout my adventures which I have never seen before or since mystical lands and magical creatures and battles so arduous that I will still fight them in my dreams till my dying day. With all of these strange and wonderful adventures (not to mention all the time spent fighting infections, because lets face it, its the wilderness and this isnt the movies), I hardly noticed all lifes little, normal fascinations. The strangest was when I realized that for as long as I could remember I had worn the same sorry tunic -- burlap and wool and itchy beyond belief -- and had never even noticed that others were draped all in silks and jewels.
When I came to this epiphany, I had no means to remedy my plight, and it remained but a distant knell in the back of my mind. Then, one day, I fell into some luck -- it smarted like you can't imagine, much pricklier than you'd expect -- and found myself at last with a bit of gold. Well, of course, I did all the things any responsible Sylestian would -- I bought stables and feed for my steeds, equipment and weaponry, and even made some small investments. But for all my discernment, before I knew it I was broker than my arm that one time after that beast with the seven snapping jaws tried to rip it off. Then, not too long ago, I fell into some more luck -- it smarted even worse the second time -- but it gave me a chance to buy (with great hesitation, I admit, for who was I to indulge such frivolities?) a set of exquisite robes the likes of which I had never before seen. Nearly as soon as I could dawn them I found myself driven nearly to madness by the beauty beauty! How I had forgotten the word in the trenches I had dug for myself! And ever since that hour I have scrambled with ever-heightening fervor to slake my unslakable obsession! Obsession can be slaked, can it not? Well, I mean to find out!
But of late I've found myself again in a predicament. Yes, I've been to the trades, of course! But their selection no longer satisfies my fancy nor my coin purse (I am still an adventurer, after all, no matter the splendor of my garb). Little by little I began to grow dejected ... but I could sense that somewhere, past the highlands and the lowlands and the midlands and the badlands of Sylestia, that which I sought did exist. And so, with the kind of determination that only passion can bear, I set upon perhaps my most epic quest yet.
For many weary moons I wandered -- ever searching, never finding, nearly despairing, but never relenting ... until finally, in the midnight hour of this very morn, something truly inexplicable came to pass. An unearthly rumbling shocked me from my slumber ... so fearsome and forceful I thought that same giant, disembodied foot had come to stomp me again. (Oh ... didn't I mention the foot? Oh, well, Ill save that one for another day, lest this short story become long. I always get straight to the point, as you can see. Brevity is a virtue -- Ive always told people so in as much detail and as much repetition as possible.) When I opened my eyes I saw naught but a flock of night birds taking wing from the treetops a great distance to the North. I could tell it must have been miles away, in fact -- as the force of whatever had frightened them surely would have ended my quest along with my life had it been any closer.
And, so, as any adventurer would (any good one, anyway), I gathered up my things at once and trekked all through the night, then all through the day until this late hour, searching for its source. And what should I come to find? That that same unearthly rumbling was none other but the twin aftershocks of your Necro bump and your triumphantly unwieldy return! That must have been an impossibly hard crash, even for a dragon such as yourself! Well, if I can be of any help to you, I will be very ready -- I trained in the magical and healing arts since my childhood days and if there is any type of creature which I can heal better than all the others, it is dragons. What luck, eh? (Don't worry, this kind of luck will only smart a little, and it wont take nearly as long as this very brief story of mine.)
In the meantime, I must ask you, dear Aku ... has my journey brought me to victory? Do you per chance possess that which I seek?
Wings I seek most ardently, along with something beautiful which I may wear behind my back at all times. I seek all other things, as well, of course, what with my obsession, but these things first. I see so many wondrous items here in your shop, and some call to me above all the rest tell me, I pray, has some lucky adventurer already taken these, or might I still have a chance?
These items or ones similar would do splendidly:
Nightmare Lord's Wings (Plaguebringer) - 50k
Serpent Wings - 30k
Snowdrop Fairy Wings (Blushing) - 50k
Parrot Tamer's Plumage (Blue and Yellow) - 30k
Spring Acolyte's Wings - 50k
Royalbug Wings (Lunarbug) - 30k
Wings of the Ice Queen- 20k
These also would be most agreeable, though I cannot guess at their value:
Leo Mane (Recolor)
Atlas Moth Antennae (Recolor)
Atlas Moth Antennae (Halloween)
Each of the Leo tails
Hallowed Reapers Hatchling
Background (Underwater Sanctuary Night)
Sakura Branch Wand (Sunset Fortune)
Sakura Branch Wand (Winter Sunrise)
Summer Rose Outfits
Tell me, O Aku! Do you possess that which I seek?
A million blessings upon you!!! |
