He couldn't watch, he didn't want to have to live with knowing he had left her for dead. Even more so he didn't want to see her die. There was really nothing he could do...he was nearly useless as it was not to meantion his injuries which burned in the salty water. By the gods...just let her be alright.

Even if the mask was meant for other things it help conceal her identity. As the soldiers approached she drew the sword, bracing herself for a fight. Gritting her teeth she charged at them, hoping that by some odd chance she would survive.

"One against five...them aint the best of odds. Aye whatta say we 'elp 'er out lads?" The male was young, too young to be more than a cannon boy or cabin boy, and spry as he hopped from the rowboat into the water. The rest of the men aboard groaned though went in aid as their appointed row boat captain asked them to. The woman was no doubt a skilled fighter though even she soon became crowed and panicked. She had already suffered from a cut on her arm if not shoulder seeing the right side of her garments were bloodstained. The mask she wore tossed aside as well. As the men joined in as aid though the soldiers turned their attention from her and moved on to them. "Aye fear not lass! We be on yer side." The young man added as they advance on the soldiers.

As soon as Samie made it to the boat Pinid helped Onmund up. She turned, starting to go back, but saw some of the others helping her fight her way out. She quickly recognized the younger one as Patrick Torne, but she thought he had been gone for a long time. Samie swam back to shore, ready to get Onmund's wife.

"Torne! Can you fight them off long enough?" The siren called. Hearing him shout his answer she quickly climbed out of the water and helped the mage in. "You are going to need to help me, I need you to kick your legs so we can get there faster, okay?"

"Aye we can take it from 'ere!" The boy shouted back to the siren. Was that really the captain's daughter? She certainly had grown into a fine young lady. The boy took a moment to look back before again turning to fight. They would have a lot of catching up to do.

The woman panted some, beaten and bruised from the fight. Her right arm had been shot, by what she honestly didn't want to know. A cut stood out on her face as well from losing the mask which was gripped tightly in her hand now. Shaking she nodded to the veil before closing her eyes. It was fine...she wasn't going to drown.

He looked up only when the man took him by the back of his shirt and placed him in the boat. He turned them to see Samie with Toril. He couldn't tell though if the woman was alive or injured. As he waited a cool breeze blew up, causing him to shiver slightly.

"Toril, the water is going to hurt, horribly, but I need you to keep going, okay?" Samie grabbed Toril from under her arms and started swimming towards the old Pinid and his boat. When she got within 5 feet of the boat she pushed Toril ahead, lifting her onto the boat.

As she climbed onto the boat herself, she looked back at Patrick, watching him and the crew fighting off the soldiers. She only stopped looking when Pinid started to row them back to the boat. Samie was taken aback by how much she missed the ocean and the Yellow Diamond. When she finally spoke, it was to Onmund and Toril. "Are you both okay? You will both need to rest for a long time once we are aboard."

She could hardly recal the swim to the boat, it was only when Onmund threw his arms around her that she finally came to her senses. "Toril!" He cried hugging her close, refuse to let her go. "Don't ever do that again! Please.." the stayed in each other's embrace until they reached the main ship, and it was only then that Toril found herself uneasy. There were still plenty of men aboard the ship, and they all seemed to watch as she and Onmund climbed aboard.

Samie climbed onto the ship and immediately looked for her father. The few who were raiding were on their way back with bags of gold they must have stolen from the shops. The siren noticed everyone looking at the three as Pinid climbed aboard. Pinid walked towards the group and introduced Samie, though almost everyone recognized her, and waited for Toril and Onmund to say theirs. He told the crew that they would be staying with them for a long time and that if anyone treated Samie with disrespect they would be tied to the bottom of the ship to drown.

As soon as Pinid stopped talking a door slammed open and her father stepped onto deck of the Yellow Diamond. "Samithae? I didn't expect you to get here already, I expected you at the next port. Who are these people? Friends of yours?"

"Yes." Onmund said stepping forward. "We saved her last night and she has been with us ever since." He looked rather confident at the moment though his courage was fading with all of the looks this little bit of information got him. "My name is Onmund, and this is my wife Toril. We seek refuge on this ship."

The small rowboats of crew members climbed aboard, greeting Samie, some calling her by her real name. Hearing her real name, a tradition name for Sirens, brought shivers down her spine. "Yes, we are wanted for murder now. Both Onmund and Toril are injured and will need to rest for a few days,"

"Captain Otto, we should set our course, the soldiers will be on our tail if we don't leave soon." Pinid was talking now and the moment was gone. Everyone was back to their duties at her fathers word. Patrick was assigned to take Toril, Onmund and Samie down to the sleeping quarters.

"And this be your quarters. Word of advice to ya though, sleep with ya 'and in ya bed, ta rats on board like to bite fingers. Other wise make yourself at home!" The boy said before leaving the couple be. He made his way back to the deck of the ship. "Why if it ain't Sam, how long had it been lass?"

"Patrick! It has have to have been 10 years at least! What's it been like on the Diamond? Has my father been treating you well?" Samie joked around with him, then looked around the ship, there were many people she couldn't name. "What happened to the old crew? Something attack?"
