A deafening roar shook the ground, and the garden crumbled away altogether. Ethan held onto Lin tightly. As they dived through the trod, they could feel the tingle of magic as they passed through the barrier, and they were falling, before everything went completely black.

Lin clings her brother to her tightly.

As they woke, a hard tile floor was cold against their cheek. They lay in a long, dim room filled with desks and computers. The school computer lab! Ethan lay under a nearby desk, his face peaceful, his breath slow and deep. Ash was nowhere to be seen, but Grimalkin lay on a desk beneath a dingy window, purring in the sunlight coming through the glass.

When she sees that Ash isn't there she jumps up, her eyes wide as she looks around frantically. "Ash? Ash? Ash!?" She states, shaking her head.

She sits up. Then her eyes widen in dismay. "Where's Kerri?"

*skipping to Kerri*

The kitsune dashes through the crumbling castle, at times having to leap from falling chunk to other falling chunk. Despite the condition of the place, he still knew where to go. Going down was dangerous, but he felt as if there was no choice. He couldn't lose her now- not when everybody else had gotten their victory!

"There you are." The cat yawned, cracking open one golden eye to stare at her. "I was beginning to think you would sleep forever. You snore, you know. And the Winter prince is gone." Grimalkin sat up and stretched, wrapping his tail around himself. "He took off earlier, before you woke up. He said he had some things to take care of. Told me to tell you not to wait for him."

"The kitsune?" Grim asks. "He didn't make it through the portal."

She scoffs, "I do not snore..." She mutters, sounding doubtful. She frowns, checking the time. "I-I'm gonna head home then... Kerri is probably still alive, he knew his way in and out of there so..." She mutters, trying to reassure Lin. She nods goodbye, looking tired and sad. She walks towards the window, opening it and hoping out. She closes it behind her before dropping to the ground, sprinting off towards her house.

"Oh...."



He ducks under a massive beam, leaping over parts that have already fallen. He growls determinedly as he races along the path that would take him to her.
