"Ssssso... What do we have here?" A something hissed.

"What do you mean she holds a burden?" Svitanie yelled at you, finally releasing her chokehold on River. Her voice dropped into a whisper. "They say she's even more powerful than The Creator. You should feel so honored to actually see her. She weaves all the futures, and if she doesn't like you..." she drew a finger across her neck; the universal sign of, you know, that. "Well, anyways!" She was back to her normal voice and she didn't seem very traumatized anymore. "I don't remember anything, but I remember the old stories told to me. The shadow men live in a network of tunnels, darkened with the dark torches to their liking. They take a girl and a boy from each nearby village once in a while as tribute, so they won't destroy us. Since I just came in, I don't know where they're held. Maybe they're eaten, I don't know. The stories say they hold their prisoners at the very heart of the mountain, in a crater surrounded by lava." She paused, and shivered a bit. "The stories say they're the direct spawn of Fate..."

Focus leapt into the air, nearly throwing you off in the process. "Sorry!" She called back at you. "I'm not used to carrying a human!" She flapped her wings, carrying you higher and higher, until you could see the entirety of the mountains. From this distance, you notice the mountain's east face has two giant carvings of two warriors standing vigil, hands on their swords. They would be too big to see if you were simply climbing the mountain, you note.

"Both of them." A dragon mutters in the background, and the one up front glances back before nodding. "Yeah, you'll need to find both of them for this to work."

"A blind girl" i respond in a joking manner. Still in a defensive stance just in case.

The slithering sound spun around you, and you feel something cold and hard touch your feet. It sounds like whatever it was had surrounded you in thick coils of... snakelike stuff. "A blind girl? I ssssssee..." It hissed, like it was laughing. "That'ssss unfortunate... To me, you're my lunch!"

"Woah!" Iist wrapped her arms around Focus's neck to stay on her back. She scanned the mountains until her gaze fell on the two warriors carved into the mountain. "Look at that!" she exclaimed, pointing at the warriors. "Do you think the entrance is there?"

"Dunno, what do you think?" Focus said, bobbing her head. "They're quite far apart from each other, so there's no way that the entrance is between them. Could be in one of them, but I don't know."

Iist thought for a few moments, wondering what the best course of action was. She scanned the surroundings for any other indicators while clutching the mage's key necklace in her hand.
