Despite it being gooey it was relatively easy to pivk an handfull of it and drop it in the bag. The energy didn't seem to soak the bag it was in so maby it could be used later as a container for alchemy.

I shoved the bag into my other bag and walked out of the room and back into the hall

It seem like you took the wrong side of the hallway as the room you were in now was totaly different of the pond. It was a fairly small room, the walls were couver with string of yellow-pinkish silk. The few small plant that had manage to grow on the web like structure were the only thing that provide light in the room.

It's obviously very soft and somhow as dry as sand, it look like the pink part are more fresh then the yellow one.
