Iist picked up the sword, gripping it and swinging it around to get a feel for its weight.

"Okay, good." Focus then made a dummy appear. "Attack that thing."

(Just saying, when others teach you, you can only go up to level two of anything. Any higher level requires you to use that skill more)

You struck the dummy with the sword, hitting it back. It rebounded, smacking you in the face.

"Ouch." Iist rubbed her nose and frowned at the sword. "Maybe I should ask to learn defense too while I'm here."

"Okay," Focus nodded and made a shield appear. "But first, practice striking at the dummy without it bouncing back at you."

Iist nodded. She struck the dummy, lessening the intensity so that it wouldn't bounce back.

It bounced back, but not so much so it didn't smack you in the face again.

"Whew." She looked back to Focus, holding the sword with one hand and wiping off a bit of sweat from her forehead with the other. "How about a shield for defense?"

"I gave you one." Focus used her wing to point at the shield on the floor next to your foot. "Pick it up, and we're all ready to go!"
