Ravenwillow ran out of the Medicine Den, Blackkit and Starkit following behind her, their heads hung low and their tails drooping.
"Darkscar is dead." she said sadly.

A warrior carried Darkscar's body out by the scruff, and placed it in the clearing. They put his paws under him as if he was sleeping, and spread herbs on his body to try to cover the scent of death. Blackkit and Starkit press their faces into Ravenwillow's fur. Ravenwillow's head is bowed.

Redfoot placed down Icekit and walked over to Darkscar's body. He whispered words of peace and hope. "Take care of Darkscar starclan." Redfoot said loud enough for anyone in the clearing to hear.

Hailstorm dipped his head low and pressed his muzzle gently against his old friend. "Take care. You have fought many battles warily. May your spirit rest well in StarClan, as did many others." his voice cracked and quavered in sadness. Reunited with his old nursery mates from many moons ago once more only to lose one to the clutches of death.

Redfoot checked up on Yellowclaw only to find her awake. "Darkscar has gone to starclan." Redfoot said and laid down beside her. Yellowclaw shook with grief.

BlazeStar stumbled out of the medicine den. Big watery tears filled her amber eyes as she buried her muzzle into her deputy's ice cold fur. "You....you were a fine deputy. Dragon Clan will honor you in their hearts."
