I dash into the school, almost late. I brush past a taller boy on my way in, my long braid flipping back and forth, probably hitting him. I don't acknowledge him and I keep going. 'His fault if he's late' I think

I notice the boy I brushed past earlier walk into the class just before the bell rings. Fortunately, the science teacher doesn't count him tardy. Unfortunately, there's only one seat still open. The one right next to me. I was hoping to get away without having a partner in bio this year, I'm more than capable of doing things myself. I roll my eyes and prop my head op on my right arm, leaning away from the left side of the table where he'll be sitting.
'Screw you, social anxiety,' I think to myself.

I flick my eyes over to the guy next to me, and what the hell? Is that a whole bird? I sigh annoyedly, but I turn back to the teacher. It's his fault if it sets off my allergies.

I flip my hair behind my shoulder and bring my attention to the teacher, who's standing in the front of the room. I push my glasses up my nose and half-listen as she talks about the class. I really snap to attention when she says something important.
"...and the people you're sitting with will be your partner for the rest of the year," I groan internally and raise my hand.
"Mrs. Callahan, can I work alone?" I ask her.
"No," she says simply before moving onto the next thing. I groan outwardly and rest my chin back on my hand. Great. this is going to be a long year.
(Could you write a bit more? I'm having trouble keeping this going xD)
