(also i forgot to tell you guys bc im dumb, but this takes place in the 21st century)
Gem arrived at the main room most of the visitors were gathered, accompanied by two guards. She raised a hand, and the low him of chatter stopped.
Gem smiled down at the small crowd. " I welcome all of you to my home, in celebration of 150 years of peace between our countries and our people. I truly hope that we will have peace for years to come. Now, " she made a gesture with her hand, and maids filed out on two sodes of the room. " My servants will show you to your rooms, and I hope you all enjoy your stay here. "

(okay) Asuriel looked around until one of the maids approached her. "Thank you" she said, as the girl led her to her quarters. "Is there a schedule or something, I feel rather awkward not being certain of when and were everything is taking place." She often carefully structured her language in this way while visiting the home of someone higher ranking than her family or a home in another country, with the intent of sounding more formal.

The girl led her down the long halls of the castle, beautifully decorated for the oncoming guests. It was clear the place was quite marvelous even without the decorations. " Yes, The Princess has prepared activities for the noblewomen. " She stopped in front of a pair of double doors, giving her a bow. " Im the maid she has assigned to you, Lady Chagny. She entered her quarters and settled onto the bed. after giving her feet a break, she made sure the doors were closed and changed into a simpler outfit. still a dress, but not nearly as fancy, and more comfortable shoes. She pulled out a book, and settling into a chair, started reading."
