I think that would work best with this group. I still like to use a d20 with some house rules (like hi, rolls have room for interpretation, 20 =/= instadeath of enemy so much as a powerful attack and a 1 is likely going to cause some sort of equipment malfunction or failure) for my own group.

I was coding a bot to stat track 'mana', equipment bonuses, and hp for my group on Discord but got too lazy to finish it so most of the time we just go off the honor policy and treat things a lot more like an RP.

So I don't really have any other suggestions, so maybe Lark might since Lark's used to running RPGs anyways.

Alright, thanks you two! I have to throw out there though that I was considering making everyone roll a d20, then multiply your role by a certain variable (depending on the strength of the boss) to see how much damage you do. Any roll 6 or bellow would be damage done to your character outside of the already oncoming attacks from the enemy, if that all makes any sense.

Might work. The taken damage would be multiplied too, yeah?
Seems like a good way to get X killed though since I swear I never roll above a 5 with him. XD

I was thinking that it would be multiplied by half of what the attacks would be, but ya, guess X is one again hopeless lol

I was trying to make it with this six stat system I used in an rp before hand. I will also make various opportunities for the characters to obtain certain items, weapons amor and potions that increase defense/attack stats. So it really is an rpg/rp hybrid

Give an example it is early and my brain is slow

And we do call X the useless rogue for a reason
Like even the times I've pulled off 20s with him, it didn't really help him too much with the bosses he was trying to deal with. He's absolutely a utility and plot character (since he can read minds and influence people's thoughts slightly) and even he slips up there.

Had him recently try to use his power to sever the mind link with this miniboss with the actual boss of the arc and he almost got himself possessed by a god.
On a 20.
We give him no chance, lmao

Like if for attacks you roll a twenty, and the factor is 4, then whenever you roll a number below 7, you'd multiply it by 2 since 2 is half of four and four is the attack factor
