If I may, I also have some tips / warnings about starting a breeding project.
First off, they take a long long time especially if you're starting with a small stock of pets with few traits.
I believe it takes 27 days for pets to mature, so even if you keep breeding whenever the females are ready, it'll still take a year or two.
Another problem is stable space. I really struggled with having enough stable space the first time I did a project so a lot of my pets were accidentally released. Right now, I'm trying to keep my projects under 50 pets each so they're manageable.
Having high vis males are more important than having high vis females since males can breed more often.

Also, not a criticism or anything, but why do you want to dye the finished project? If you're only breeding tagged or purebred frozen dew nixis, the color scheme should remain the same. While there's nothing wrong with dyeing a PB themed project, it does severely lower the sale value. Just a heads up :)
