Don't go for "just any" gear. If it doesn't match your elements, it's useless and you've wasted gold.
Beau, it looks like your party is shadow light air?
Shadow - look for Illusionist first; evoker is acceptable
Light - look for Evoker first; illusionist is acceptable
Air - look for Myrmidon first; assassin is acceptable
The most important thing is to match str equips with str elements (such as air) and int equips with int elements (such as shadow and light). Getting "just any" gear means you might end up mixing them. Intelligence does an air pet no good. Strength does no good for shadow and light pets.
