"Its a well deserved break." He snapped.

"You're out in the open. In the part of the forest where not-so-nice folk live."

He sighed, reigning in his temper. He carefully folded his wings around himself. "Whats it matter to you?"

"I live here. You're practically in my backyard." Amalie shrugged. "Vesides, you're not from around here, I'm guessing?"

"I'm not" he admits. God you'd think its like your trying to pull his teeth out, how reluctantly he admits it.

"Thought so." She says, planting her hands on her hips "and you, mister, arent going to last long if your out in the open all like that. What's your name anyways?"

"Reuvan" I say, resisting the urge to tell her to bugger-off. I could take care of myself.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Amalie." Amalie grinned. "Now, if you dont mind, we should move to somrhwere....not so exposed. Theres a party of prankster imps that pass throuh every few hours and they are completely merciless when it comes to pranking."

Reuvan got up slowly, wings falling into an awkward but less painful position behind him. "I'll follow you, but I can't be here long-- I'm supposed to be meeting up with someone."

"This way." Amalie led him at a manageable pace to a small grove. There was also a small brook. "Its mother safer here, it's in a less traveled area."
