"That doesn't appear to be the case," he responded flatly, crossing his arms. "Those runes took days to make, and I had help from one of the other mages." Jordan sighed, tapping the ground with his foot in irritation. This whole experiment was just spawning unnecessary complications.

The blonde boy watched their interaction from the treeline, noting the foreign human and glancing at the mage. He was silent, and neither have seemed to notice him yet. Neil decided to observe what they did next before announcing his presence.

" So how long will it take you to make more? " She asked. She began fondling with her hands, creating ice around her finger tips. Her magic wasn't usually unstable, but as of the moment, she was unstable.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, "well, it involves perfectly copying the runes again while infusing them with magic. I used mine in the making of those" he nodded towards the used stones. "And since magic is so unstable... using mine again would probably work..." he muttered something under his breath, before glancing up at the girl while adjusting his glasses again out of habit. "Infusing the runes takes a lot of energy- the process would take multiple days by default."

" So I just have to wait around here for a couple of days? " She asked, getting agitated.

"Unfortunately, yes." He said with disdain, walking over to his workbench and leaning over it, flipping through a notebook a couple times. "I need more stones, I have the ink already," he said to himself, narrowing his eyes at the rune sequence.

" Then what do i do in the meantime? " She asked.

"What are derivatives again?" Peach stared at her math homework with a confused face, "Oh well, I better ask my friend for help before I fail."

Peach reached for her phone, but just before she could grab it, everything went pitch black, and she could neither hear nor sense anything. It was as if her senses all shut off at the same time, and before she knew it, she was hurled against a hard surface.

"Ouch!! What the--" Peach looked up and was shocked to find herself at such a bizarre place.

"I don't suppose you have any experience in traveling through spacetime other than today? If you could get yourself home it would save me the effort." He replied dryly. A pause, "though you could help me gather rocks."

Neil abruptly stopped in his musings and gazed impassivly in the direction of another disturbance nearby, obviously caused by some aftereffects of the mages spell. "It looks like this won't be as simple as he made it out to be." His voice was quiet and monotone. Giving one last glance at the pair, he slinked back into the woods to investigate the next site.

She nodded. " Any specific rock? "
