Reuvan yawned as he walked into the pavilion, stretching his arms above his head and working out the kink in his back. He knew he shouldn't have fallen asleep with the extra pillow Casey chucked at him last night. A light giggle broke out from the Hermes table, someone made a joke about Cupid and his bow. Reuvan just shrugged his bow farther up his shoulder- the light quiver held in his other hand- and sat down at his own table.

The Hermes cabin was going down this time. Reuvan might not have been a son of Apollo but it hardly mattered because the Apollo cabin was on his side anyway. The Athena cabin- per usual - had won last nights contest (riddle solving) and got first pick. The lineup looked like this:

Athena Cabin, Aphrodite Cabin, Apollo Cabin, Iris Cabin, Hypnos Cabin, Tyche Cabin, and the Heaphetus Cabin.
VS
Hermes Cabin, Hecate Cabin, Aries Cabin, Nike Cabin, Hebe Cabin, Dionysus Cabin, and the Demeter Cabin.

The Nemesis kid's had volunteered to sit out to make the numbers even.

Reuvan sat down next to Alex who had woken up earlier than him just to hog the bathroom, even though he knew Reuvan would only take a few minutes (Really-- Reuvan was only wearing a Camp-halfblood hoodie and cargo shorts anyway). Alex handed Reuvan a plate in a sort of quiet apology. Reuvan nodded his thanks and slipped off to make his offering to the gods.

In a matter of minutes the pavilion was packed full of kids chattering excitedly. A few more of Reuvans own cabin-mates joining him and Alex at the table. The Aphrodite cabins counselor was absent- most likely communing with the other counselors Reuvan mused silently.

He nodded his head along to whatever Felicia was saying, the bouncy blonde taking no notice of his obvious disinterest in the topic. His eyes swept the crowd, looking for that familiar spiky black hair. Or maybe he should have been looking for the gray mop of a math genius.

"Hephaestus cabin needs to do what?" comes a voice from directly behind the pair. Aconitum leans over, shouldering Hayden aside so he could see what there was to steal off of Reuvan's plate. Finding nothing of interest, he instead plucks an arrow out of the kid's quiver and examines it in depth, as much as anyone could examine a piece of wood. "You aren't using the ones I made you," Aconitum frowns, "Rude." He puts it back before nudging plates out of the way and then perching on the table top, "So what's the plan for t'night?"

Alex made a sound of protest next to me as Ace's boots dropped dirt on the tabletop. I scowled, shoving him off the table rather hard. "Not your table. Also, you know I can't use...those. All the archers have rubber-tipped arrows so nobody actually gets killed.... although they still leave a nice dent in armor or a bruise." I said shrugging a little bit.

Although Hayden hadn't made total sense, I got the gist. "I think Hephaestus cabin should be on the offensive. Their gadgets cause utter chaos, and we can use that to our adavantage. Good job picking up the Tyche Cabin by the way... their influence will be useful."

I eyed up Ace. "Has your cabin cooked up any crazy traps for the game or-?" nibbling on my piece of toast I added "-nothing lethal remember?"

"I think we should split Apollo in two groups, one for offensive and one as defense. Iris and Tyche spread out nearby for extra support. Hypnos too I think. Maybe scatter the Athena kids throughout groups so theres some sort of order? We can have half of Apollo attack and then have part of that group lead away people from the flag and into Cabin Nine's traps. Cabin Nine can sneak around behind and capture the flag while the other sides defensive team is scattered and under attack." Reuvan paused- "What did you have in mind for Cabin 10?"
