The twins, even being so close, hadn't noticed a tail or the approaching girl. Sam was too busy making jokes and Aaron was too busy trying to block Sam out

Calliope quickly figured out she was probably some sort of mer-human thing. And from the looks of her tail, a shark.

Calliope reached her and examined her with her eyes. She'd never seen a mer-shark before, so she was quite excited. So excited she still didn't notice the twins.
