Rose barked upon hearing the word 'dress' hoping Lilly would understand she wanted a dress.

Someone knocks on the front door of your house, Avery scurried out of the room to try to investigate who was at the door

Lilly put down the fabrics and picked Avery up before opening the door to see who was there......

You open the door to find a box with a note on top that said "For Lilly" Written in neat handwriting. Flipping over the note, it reads:

"Dear Lilly, I know we don't talk much anyone, but I heard of the Pokemon competition, and I knew you would be entering. I've always been more of a fighter, but I still understand the basics of competitions and what you do, so I got all these spare things for you... I know most of it is junk, but it's all I have, so, good luck!"

The note wasn't signed, and by the time you finished reading it, whoever left it could barely be seen walking away in the distance, but you knew exactly who it was. It was Oliver, a boy you had been friends with when you were younger, but grew apart as both of you had very different goals in life.

Lilly paused for a moment as the memories flooded back to her and she put Avery down and shouted loudly as she ran after him not sure if it would help " Oliver!!..... Hey!!"

Oliver was quite a distance away, but Rose and Avery were much faster than you, and were able to catch up with him as he stopped walked, turning around to face you as you finally managed to catch up

*Oh hey Lilly, I didnt think youd answer the door so quickly... I wasnt sure if you were even home still... sorry I left the box and ran, I wasnt really sure what Id say if I actually saw you* Oliver chuckled nervously. He was easily 7 inches taller than you, and working on his familys mareep farm gave him strong muscles, the only thing that really made him look out of place was his soft face and messy light green hair.

*Oh, but check it out, Amp finally evolve* he said proudly, sending a flaafy out of a pokeball. You recognized the pink sheep as the evolved form of his favorite mareo when you were growing up, you remember accidentally getting paralyzed a few times by its ability, even though she never meant to.

Lilly Chuckled " I'm sure she is tons stronger now, and You two are taking gym badges like they are easy pickings" Lilly said as an encouraging joke " Avery and Rose and getting along better as well and have learned a few new moves that we might use in the upcoming competition" she said excitedly, she hadn't really put a lot of thought as to the coriography for round one, but she was sure the two fox Pokemon would do well along the way with inspiration from their travels.

*Wanna show off a little for us before you get going?* Oliver asked, hoping to see a little bit of Avery and Roses talents before he headed off.

*Also, did you know that most other regions only have 8 gyms? Thats so much easier than the 12 we have here... I guess most other regions are a lot smaller though* Oliver sighed. When you were younger he always talked about fighting all 12 gyms. He told you there was 5 on the Phoenix island (the nickname of the island you lived on), 5 on the Fox island (the nickname for the western island) and one on each other snakeheads (a nickname by the region locals given to the northmost and southmost of the middle islands)

Lilly seemed a bit surprised " Whoa that is a big difference!" she commented before glancing at Avery and Rose " well guys, want to show him the one we have been practicing?" Lilly had gotten the inspiration from Avery and Rose's first big fight over Lilly leaving for cam one year, the two started fighting and it ended when Avery used Ice Beam and Rose used Flamethrower simultaneously the steam from the collision was so thick Lilly had a hard time getting to them to make sure they were okay, so they had practiced to make the effects more appealing, and not to knock them both unconscious

Avery used his ice beam, angling it towards the sky as Rose used her flamethrower, the two beams colliding in between them and up in the air. The result was a beautiful mist with glittering, melted ice fragments raining down due to the mix between extreme heat and cold.

*Woah... thats incredible!* Oliver gasped, flaafy cheering and clapping as well over the show. *Well, now I know for sure youre gonna win, stay safe out there, I dont wanna old you up too long and make ya late* he said, giving you a hug with one arm before saying goodbye and continuing on his way *... and hey, maybe well meet up again somewhere along the way* he said with a goofy grin.

Lilly chuckled " Hopefully, stay safe out there Oliver!" she said glad the two liked it watching him walk away a bit before waking Avery and Rose to head back to the house, picking up the box before heading inside.
