You can't be more obsessed than I am... XD. Look at the last (3? 4?) posts to see ideas so I don't have to re-type them.

Okay, looks like we're dumping a lot of canon stuff (which I'm just personally going to call this an AU because I'm something of a perfectionist lol) and ummm if anyone needs help with OC names in Elvish I actually can help with that. I'm fine with keeping Aragorn's son, Legolas' daughter and Frodo. Although if this takes place Across the Sea, then I think we may end up having to be some canon characters.

I would not bet that, if I was you, it's probably impossible to be more obsessed than me ;).
Maybe we could just twist the story a bit so it fits with the dates. Either we could say that Legolas' daughter was born in Middle-Earth before he left (Unless it's very important that she's born when her father is already gone so he doesn't know about her, or if she's born in the Undying Land and it's not possible otherway because of her mother's identity), or we could say the hobbit who leaves to the Undying Lands is Sam's grandchild who want to see if the rumors about his grandfather are true, and who is also as obsessed with the elves as Sam was? Though respecting the dates is not very important.
I like the part where someone who is not really supposed to tries to go to the Undying Lands!
And I would love it to take place accross the sea, but in that case I probably will not be able to resist having some lesser known canon characters make an appareance... (some of my favorite elves could be there :p)

I'm totally fine with Arrow being Sam, if we end up doing it Across the Sea.
We could twist the timeline so that Aragorn dies earlier/later than eleventy-eight years, depending on if we want his son to go Across the Sea or not, we could even tweak it so that there's an older son instead of/plus the three girls.
I do have an OC or three that I can use if we want, there's an elf, a ranger, and a hobbit which I made at least three years ago and I have forgotten the hobbit's name...uh I'll think of something if we want to use any of them.
I don't mind playing the villain if we end up in there.

Aragorn has a canon son who rules after him (Eldarion), I didn't think about asking if he's supposed to exist in the story. If he exist then an OC son would not be the first born, and therefore he could be quite young at time of the death of Aragorn, whether we choose respect the timeline or not. (I think a younger son would have less responsabilities and more freedom, so maybe it's best to not make Aragon Aragorn's heir anyway?)
And I agree, Arrow you can be Sam :)
I can find some OC to play, depending if decide to start in Middle Earth or in the Undying Lands. Or I can rp canon characters if we need canon characters.
How many characters can we have?
I also don't mind playing a villain, but if you want to play the villain Skazka you can, if Arrow agrees :)
(As long as you make them believable, if they want to reforge the rings they would need to be very powerful, a human and even most elves could not do that. Though I guess a manipulative villain who is not powerful enough could convince someone else to reforge the ring for them. Also three rings are in the Immortal Lands where theorically humans can't go).
(I think I'll think of the rp as an AU as well, otherway I would probably get an headache trying to think about how things could work and be even more annoying about small details:p )

I would prefer to have our RP respect the timeline, if possible. It would also be cool if it did in fact take place across the sea. Enyo's idea is quite good, what do you think?
I only brought up my story/OC's since I am needing some ideas for it. We don't even have to use them, but I would still probably use ideas from this in it, if both of you are okay with my using your ideas. You two can decide, since I am not really desperate for one idea to be chosen over the other.
As Enyo said, not many would have the power to re-forge Rings Of Power. Galadriel is one of the last Noldar, right? So maybe, somehow, she was tricked/forced into doing it.
Edit: Thanks for letting me play Sam, in my opinion, he is one of the best characters (beside maybe Aragorn) and the true hero of the series, Frodo would be dead so many times without him.

I believe Galadriel is one of the last...uhh... I want to say Maiar...something besides the Noldor, she came from across the Sea and it's been a while since I read the Silmarillion. But someone with an extremely powerful voice (think Saruman times maybe fifty) could sway her, if she didn't have her ring on. If we respect the timeline but add in Aragon then we can let him come across the Sea either with or shortly after Sam and so keep it varied but still mostly canon. If we let Frodo come too then we'll have to ignore the fact that he's married with a kid which is pretty easy because he's only mentioned in the genealogies in appendix C.
In short, if we want to shake it up a bit, we can add in/tweak a few things. Or if we want to keep it canon, we can make it work too.

I think a mix of canons and OC's would be nice, with the OC's being the main characters and the canons background ones. But again, it's entirely up to you and Enyo.
((Oh great Varda the appendixes are confusing. I also had to read the Silmarillion about five times before I finally understood it. I am still waiting to read, and buy, Unfinished Tales, and I want the Atlas and stuff. but those appendixes... I am starting to wonder... did Tolkien ever eat, or sleep, or do anything at all EVER beside work on Middle-Earth?))
