Because you need to have 10k to 'purchase' her help. Its like buying a pet You have to have gold in your bank to purchase that pet.
For example I only have 21,780 gold at the moment in my bank, which is drastically smaller then the 3,077,185 gold I have earned in my lifetime. I can only buy pets that cost less then 21,780 gold. I can not buy a 300k pet.

I thought it was stated in the thread advertising the coming of stablehands that it was total lifetime earned, not what I have on hand.
