I sit quietly by the small fire in my cottage, reading a book. My dinner is slowly simmering on a little grate over the fire. I built all of this myself two years ago, when I ran away from home. My father had left my mother when he found out she was going to have me, and my mother died in labor. I was taken in to a foster home, with six other children. They would get in my face and terrorize me every single day. I eventually couldn't handle it and ran away. I found this little run down cottage, fixed it up, and made the inside livable. I have taught myself to hunt and cook, as well as collect berries and roots. I have lived my life through trial and error, and have finally settled down in my own peaceful, happy way.

I do wish I could have a companion though. Someone to talk with, or to help me. I don't care what it is, I just need another being in my life.

Carefully the Quitari made her way towards the meadow for a bit of mid morning grazing. Her scales shone brightly in the morning sun making her tangled knotted hair look even more out of place. Snorting she trotted along despite her looks. She was clearly still the prettiest thing in these woods even with knotted hair, or atleast she thought so. Still trotting she made her way into the tall grass of the meadow where she began to graze on only the tenderest of grasses.

I get up and take my soup off of the stove. I spoon some out into my little bowl, and eat quietly. Afterwards, I store the pot of soup with a lid firmly on it in a small hole underneath my cabinet, where I store things to keep cool. I take my dishes and walk outside to wash them off in the small stream that runs through the edge of the woods, a few paces off of my home. I walk out, looking at the fields. I wash my dishes, and as I am walking back home, I see a glimmer of blue in the distance. I quickly put my dishes inside, then go back out to investigate the shiny blue thing. I get closer to it, and see that it is a Quitari! I slow down, and make small, non-threatening noises to get it's attention. It has a snow white coat, with crystalline scales shining like diamonds on it's back. Its mane and tail are a little bit tangled, but I think it gives it a wilder look, and I like it.
