No doubt, a masters is expensive and grants won't cover anything graduate level! I was lucky and got a position as a graduate assistant, so I help out professors and in exchange all my grad classes are paid for.

*rases hand* oh me!
I've had some financial issues, and issues with what I really wanted to do, but this fall after a little hiatus, I'm going back as a Junior for a biochem degree~! <3

Freshman studying Early Childhood Education and Special Ed. I'm in my second semester of college! A bit different, but it's a lot of fun! My life's dream is to spend my entire life with small children. XD That's heaven to me!
It's nice to see that I'm not the only person on here with better things to be doing with my life. XD

@Icemelts,
Way to go!
I don't know if this holds for other PhDs (and I know it doesn't hold for MS), but most graduate schools don't require tuition and provide stipends and housing for STEM PhDs (e.g. PhD in biochemistry, physics, engineering, biology, psychology). Of course, some programs also require you to teach a little, but considering that many PhD candidates hope to pursue a career in academia, I think that's a good thing.

I'm a blacksmith at the moment, hoping to go back to university in September and restart my Materials Engineering degree. It's certainly nice to have seen the more practical side of materials use, especially a craft skill like blacksmithing... but I miss my science and it's calling me home. Hehe
