What's with the collector's edition? How are they spcial? Can i breed pets classed as pbs with them?

Sometimes, the Sylestia Admins will re-use a Theme from earlier but change it a bit. The older version of that Theme becomes the "Collector's Edition" and the newer version becomes the "Modern."

The most obvious example of this was the Tiger Lily Aeridini. TL Aeridinies looked like this when they first came out, during the 2014 Spring Festival--



The 2015 Spring Festival TL Aeridinies, however, are like this girl--


Both are Tagged Tiger Lily Aeridinies, but if you were to breed a Collector's Edition TL to a Modern TL, you might not like the results, even though the offspring would be a Purebred TL Aeridini.

Some of the other Collector's Edition vs. Modern Theme differences are not as obvious. Players may not find out they accidentally bred a CE to a Modern until a particular trait becomes visible. Therefore, if a Theme has both a CE and a Modern version, I am always careful to tell potential buyers which version a particular pet belongs to.

As you can see, the armor and the wings are both tending toward grey, even though the result of such a breeding would technically be a Purebred Midsummer Night Zolnixi.

So, certainly you can breed a Purebred MN Zolnixi to any of mine, but you would probably want to make certain yours are Collector's Edition and not Modern before you did so.

If the one you're thinking of breeding to mine is Black Star's son, he is pure Collector's Edition. All his Tagged ancestors were born in 2014. In fact, his Star Runes came originally from Tipped Flight of Dreams! (She insisted that I feed him, and wants to know, why haven't you given him a name? LOL!)
