Just in case you don't know, you can check to see what stats a baby will hatch with before it hatches, thereby reducing the number of philters you use to only the very best.
Do so by searching for your own babies in Advanced Search and checking out their Statistics
(Only learned this recently)
May also be trying to save up some gold to buy a dud baby with. Those things are real cuties!
