(Did you make mashed potatoes? :D)
Yeah, that makes sense. 3DG probably has a few almost punk rock songs, but they don't have that certain vibe. :P
Welp, *crawls back to Spotify*

...the christian rock band? That's what google tells me. Not really a fan of christian music in general, heh.
Well just 'cause it fits the lyric requirements doesn't mean it's punk. Also one song does not determine artists' genre. Plus, you need the sound, else any song could be punk.
General definition is 'loud, fast, and aggressive'. But the subculture plays into it. That's what makes it what it is, it's a mixture of music and living. It's a mixture of a lot of things and it's not so easy to pin down, unlike rap or country.
Think like how a lot of pop songs on the radio are about romantic relationships. They're not all the same, but they're also not all that different. Then some aren't even about romance or breakups at all!
Which is why genres are hard to pin down. Plus they mix and most artists do their own thing.
I have a feeling i implied knowing a bit more than i actually do...which is thouroughly embarassing and means i need to give myself a further musical education.

That was actually the last thing i made before my phone died XD
Yeah, i've been meaning to delve into the classic punk bands as well as get into ska, they're two genres that just sound so great to me but i've only brushed the surface and know more about them from an analytical standpoint than an enjoyment standpoint...

Heh, that happens. There's music i find from when i was little and i'm like...i remembered that being a lot more hardcore...
Welp, the Ramones and the Clash come to mind, and Blink-182 is pop-punk like Green Day...other than that, i'll get back to you, i've got some delving to do!

Wait, you talking about Skillet...?
If you are, they're pretty neat. I'm an atheist, tbh, but they have good songs.

Nah, i think it was Red? Like i said, not really a christian music fan. Lyrics are important to me and i'm never really in the mood for jesus tunes.
Skillet sounds like they'd make great food...

Oh... xD Skilllet has songs with good lyrics without making you feel like it's some kind of Christian propaganda. Until I looked other up on Wikipedia, I didn't know they were a Christian Rock band. Thought I prefer Three Days Grace and Green Day. xD

Oh, that's nice! I just'd have to delete all the other songs...jk, i'd have to see. it's not the propaganda so much as...i don't enjoy having to pretend i'm catholic, and music and my other hobbies are an escape. so, it's not logical to make my escapes include something i'm, well, escaping FROM.
but maybe once i'm on my own and can do my own thing, i'll look into it. i mean, i swore i'd never listen to rap, but tbh when i realized my disinterest was entirely based on all the racist stuff people said about rap, i figured i'd at least try, y'know? rather not like it genuinely than not like it because i'm a jerk. still ehhhhh on country and i know i don't like dubstep, but everything else...i'll try it, y'know? also, pirate themed metal is not for me, unless i want to laugh. a lot. (i found one where they screamed GIV' ME TH'BOOTY, BOOOTYYY, BOOOOTYYY, i...was not concentrating on art...)
i didn't know either, i thought they were a metal band XD
no pun intended about skillets, but then again i love puns so maybe i'll intend it after-the-fact. so many breakfast/pan jokes to be had...
