@Sylvette,

AWWW THAT SUCKS. Several of my friends abroad use proxies to download games and play them but sometimes it's just more trouble than it's worth.

Do you still play Fiesta, and if not when did you play it and what was your in-game name? :0

@Elliot,

I have no idea lol. For some reason, by computer at that time hated running Fiesta, so there was only a couple of times where it actually worked for me.

And I ave used so many different in-game names in my gaming lifetime, I honestly have no idea XD Maybe it was something like Sylveete (no double t), or SoulStereo

A good MMO is going to be different for everyone. I have played a lot of them extensively and can give good recommendations, but it would help to know a few specifics about what kind of game you like. I'll give a few examples in the next few paragraphs, and try to keep it short - feel free to respond or message me.

One of the most important criteria is how much you're willing to pay. If you want a free game, it's important to choose carefully, because there are a lot of poor quality free games out there. Others only allow you to play for free to a very limited extent: Wizard101 is a good example of this. Pay-to-play games usually (but not always) have more extensive content, better graphics, more player options, and better endgame content than free-to-play games.

Think about what appeals to you most in a game. Questing? Endgame content? PvP? Class flexibility? Game lore? Do you prefer solo or group play? Do you want a lot of options like pets, mounts, housing, and an in-game economy? One of the best games not yet mentioned that combines all of these is Rift.

How much time will you have to play, and how competitive are you within the game scope? Some of more involved games - World of Warcraft is notable in this regard - require extensive play at endgame levels in order to stay abreast of the game's most current challenges.

Overall, I can give you a short list of MMOs that combine the best of all of the above characteristics and are not so simple that you may become easily bored. Note that I have not played EverQuest nor any of the Star Wars games, so must exclude them from my personal experience.

Free to Play
Lord of the Rings Online (probably the best game out there for lore and story arc)
Aion (heavily PvP influenced, but you can get to endgame without paying a dime)
Runes of Magic (WoW knockoff but a lot of fun, with interesting class combinations)

Pay to Play
Rift (extremely flexible game, most content soloable, excellent class balance, brilliant group dynamics, generally kind and helpful players)
World of Warcraft (the first MMO to combine all that was good of its predecessors and remove a lot of what was bad; still going strong, but requires heavy commitment at endgame in order to acquire the best gear)
EVE Online (highly recommended if PvP is a priority for you; otherwise, stay away)

Additionally, a not-yet-released game to keep an eye on is Elder Scrolls Online.

Mabinogi is aesome my fav mmo its free to play and no mem stuff like in runescape, tho some things you gotta pay for. but u get 2 free pets; horse and a giant eagle both ride able. Its a freelancer game like runescape: You can do whatever you like, although u do gotta pick a class but it only affects you by giving you doube exp for that class, and it has a skill system, the battle system is its only default bc its hard to learn, but ppl who still play it enjoy its system.

Anyone have heard of Wakfu? Or Dofus?

It's tactics MMO, developed by Ankama. I played Wakfu for quite some time... Pretty original and I loved the heavy crafting system there. But unfortunately the system (skills and such) undergo frequent changes, due to 'balancing' issues. I stopped since it became too difficult to keep up with the game, it's reccommended for people who had loads of time to spare! OuO

yea they don't exist any more, they took care of that issue from the many complaints. I might see the rare one in channel 1 but no where else.
