Some free-to-play ones that I've enjoyed are Everquest, Everquest 2, and Perfect World International. I really loved EQ2 and even bought a subscription to it but unfortunately had to stop playing due to computer issues. :<
And of course WoW lol
I've also always really wanted to try DC Universe online. *is a huge comic book fangirl*

The Secret World is pretty darn good, great story and great skill trees. Guild Wars 2 is a phenomenal game, also treats it's cash shop better than any MMO I've ever seen. A bit of a lack of end-game content, though.

@Sylvette,
Thanks for all the various options, I definitely see one or three that intrest me! Never would've guessed they had a Tennis one though. Dya know if it's any good? =0-o=
@Katasaur,
Yes, I've heard a bit about DC Universe from friends of mine, been thinking on trying it for sure, and seeing it pop up as recommendations makes me fiddle with the idea even more! The other two sound pretty interesting as well, thanks!
@Callista,
Well, does the lack of the end game play screw up the entire game? Cuz if so, I cannot stand those kinds lol =^^"= Irks me all the time when games do that x3
@Krinadon,
Ah, thanks! Sorry about that!

I have been playing mmo's for a long time, one of my favourite types of game! Everquest was my first and will still always be my favourite. I even still play it today but it is very old now XD. If your looking for an mmo I recommend Everquest 2 its got so much content and so many things to do. Its housing/Dungeon making system alone is amazing.
Also another good game is Neverwinter Online. It just came out and I actually ended up buying a founders pack because I enjoyed the beta so much. Besides leveling, questing, dungeons, pvp and a pile of other stuff, you are able to create your own dungeons, quests and zones and post them on the foundry so you and other people can play them. It also has action combat instead of the normal which is very fun and I have found it to be one of the better action combat systems that have come out. Best part is just like Everquest 2 it's free to play, you dont have to buy anything to start and the store items they sell are just cosmetic stuff etc and Im all for their stores, without money they wont be able to continue etc. I wouldnt recommend Guild wars 2 though, I played it for a while and its pretty much a long leveling process that ends with you not having much to do at the end unless your really into pvp which I'm not. They tried to make the leveling like a big story for your character but the writing and the voice acting is really bad at times so it just ruins the feel of it. I couldn't believe it when my character had found her sister who was supposed to be dead, alive and responded to her with no emotion and then completely ignored her and you never see her again! I still dont understand why they did do that and many encounter that way it would have been little effort to have gotten the characters to react with emotion =.=. But anyhow...
Tera is also pretty good however leveling is slow and sadly its end game is very limited too, Dragons prophet is coming out later this year and looks very promising you get to tame and ride dragons! Ragnarok 2 isn't bad but its pretty much your standard mmo. Aion has been free to play for a while and is def one of the better free to play games! Also if your looking for something a little different theres Vindictus which is very good, great combat and beautiful characters, Its not your standard mmo and is best played with friends for ultimate fun! You pretty much get to smash and crash your way through different types of dungeons and ruins etc as well as getting to throw pots/objects at monsters heads > and thats all I can think of atm XD
p.s typed quickly prob a million spelling errors

@Sylvette,
I USED TO PLAY FIESTA OBSESSIVELY OHHHHH LORDY
On topic, Dragon Nest is super fun, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the battle system, which isn't turn-based in the least. You can ACTUALLY DODGE STUFF WOWEE. It's way more reflex-based than luck-based, so you can actually take down enemies and finish dungeons way above your level if you are skilled at fighting.
I also like Elsword a whole lot! It's a 3d side-scrolling game and it's really fun to play with friends. The NPC's all have voice acting and they're all so cute ahhhh!!!
