image is not that big but you can see that Cloud Runes is purple colors....
the code for Cloud Runes is C (so if the trait on that spot would just be Cloud Runes it would be CC and the color would be blue)

but it is purple and the code for the trait sayes CD and D stands for the trait Leaf Veins. so this means that the trait you see is Cloud Runes but that the hidden trait is Leaf Veins so when breeding the pet it has a chance of giving either of those 2 traits for that slot.

Alice, those are exactly the genes and mutation that I posted with the Aurleon. There's only 2 visible traits both becomes visible when it reaches adolescent without using test kits because exclusive pets don't carry hidden traits. All are visible when it reaches adolescent. We're just running in circles here. This debate is getting ugly. People might think we're arguing and it's making this post not fun to read for my possible buyers. I suggest you stop.

I think what Alicehearts is trying to say (and I'm only posting to clarify) is that pets (also exclusives) can have 2 traits in the slot where they have a visible trait.
We call this hidden carries.

Let's take for example this Aurleon (I've randomly taken a Mahi Mahi Aurleon to clarify)


She has Cloud Runes vis in gene 3 and Paradise Tail in mutation 3. We can all see this, and you don't have to test a pet for this.
But
If we look at the code of a tested pet (this works only for tested pets) we can find something interesting behind the Cloud Runes

that part that is interesting starts at
gd1 = NN
this means there is nothing here. No carries, no vis.
But if we look at the code for gene 3 (gd3=CD) we see there is are 2 different letters here, that correspond to 2 different genes. These are the hidden carries Alice refers to.

Now if we go to advanced search and we search for only Aurleons you can see the drop down menus for the genes, and all of them have a corresponding letter.
Gene 3 Cloud Runes corresponds to CC.
But that's not what's in the code. The code states CD, meaning it has Cloud Runes visible, but hidden carried Leaf Veins (DD).

meaning that there is a possibily that the offspring of this Aurleon can have Leaf Veins.

I hope this clarifies the misunderstanding :D
