Oh!! I see what you mean! All of my characters have flaws, some more devistating than others, wether it be extreame fears, physical inablility, mental handicaps, or an off-putting personality.
I'm so glad that you have a resonable mind when it comes to characters !! I have met so many people that create perfect and un-beatable characters x-x

I'm not too much on the complete other side either ^^ I mean : one disaster in a life is believable, but something like having met 3 psychopath in his life is unbelievable ^^
And no killing off parents XD it's way too overused.

Right?? When I have a character that has no family, they simply don't have a family and not a dark past. And for my most used characters, his deblitating fear is humorous (he gets so scared of corndogs that he passes out)

I'm open to having it semi-public ? I mean, not too many people but I'm open to other applicants ^^
And I guess we should work out some characters and an initial situation before beggining ^^
and I prefer forum, since I will probably tend to write huge paragraphs ^^

I agree with simi-public, it gets confusing when you have 10+ people and they go on without you ;-;
I prefer fourm as well it lets you have more than one roleplayer.
Do you want to go over characters and the situation now ?

sure,
So we said ability based. Every character should be limited to one ability. The stronger the ability, the bigger the setback (like the previous char, who has to know the composition of everything)
And what era ? I'd instinctively say contemporary, but we could change ^^

I'd say be begin either at a new year, or a new student year, depending on the age of the characters you want to build
