So glad to see what you have accomplished with this little guy. I used to work for a vet when I was younger and I was the one they always gave the abandoned kittens to when they needed to be raised. I have raised many from a day old. One trick I learned (and its not an expensive one) to keep them warm overnight or for a few hours I would heat up uncooked rice in a stocking (the sheer kind women wear under skirts...you probably knew what I meant) and put it under a towel and it would keep them warm for hours. They also loved the softness of the towel. I would also put a soft sounding clock in the box with them, it reminded them of a heart beat and helped soothe them.

On a side note...My mom also works for animal control and once she rescued a baby deer. The place that normally took them in was closed so she had to take it home. Her huge family of dogs, most of which are rescues from her work, loved the deer. She had to take it to the right people when they opened but for awhile she wanted another one.

If I remember correctly it lasts around 2-4 hours or so depending on the outside air temp. I'd microwave it for a couple minutes, til its pretty warm to the touch. The towel was over it to make sure it wasn't too hot for the kittens. I think it reminded them of a warm body like their mom would have.

I really doubt it considering he wasnt even in my possession last week. I got him last Thursday. Prior to him arriving at my home, he was a stray. So it may have been a similar photo but these photos were taken BY ME. And I dont like for it to seem like I may have 'stolen' them or anything. Not that you said that but I want anyone that reads this thread to be clear. I can prove it with the medical bills from the hospital.

We've been filling a glove with water, then microwaving it and he has a snuggle safe heating thinger. BUT I like this idea for my 2 week old kitten, Bailey thats in my house currently since we ran out of snuggle safes.

i just took another glance...i think i mixed this Bruce with another Bruce cat probably, same markings, different base color **ducks*
