Whoa, yo, hey, I think someone here needs to calm their entitlement and be a little less rude to the admins. The money they make from the diamond sales probably goes back into the site via art and serves, let alone any and all bills the admins may have. Maybe this is their sole income? Do you know? No?
It seems they are putting whatever extra money they have into getting more and better features for the site, not wasting it on improving a word filter. Where I do agree it is the bare basics of a filter, sitting there calling the coder stupid, raging on the site, and being a total jerk doesn't make anyone want to listen to you or any of your suggestions. The moment you throw an insult is the moment I lose any and all interest.

Well, all I can say is CNET is your friend. So is eHOW. And File Hippo, Best Buy and Microsoft, as well, for this kind of software. He doesn't have to write it when there is software out there that's cheap because it's been around for more than a decade. Some of it is even free.

Can you please lock this thread, seeing as the Suggestion thread has been answered by you I don't think this needs to go on.

There isn't any software running when you load a page of Sylestia outside of the operating systems and necessary software required to run the server.

The word filter is a function that I didn't even really write b/c at the time I needed it I didn't really fully understand the use of the preg_ functions in php - so I found snippets of code online and used it. I also believe the actual words being filtered comes from the ones provided by cometchat - again, just a copy/paste.

In order to write my own function (again, software has no place here) would require time - time that is quite precious. And atm my time is being invested in building a new generator. After that, probably a new breeding grounds. Then after that, new hatchery, scale shop, and pet profiles. When I build a new pet profile page, I will write my own word filter function that will act much more intelligently.

All of that being said, locking this thread before it derails any further.
